"My design process is relatively simple, If it's a type of landscape or sci-fi/space painting I haven't attempted before, I'll do a rough sketch on a piece of paper to figure out where I wish to put certain trees, planets, and that in turn determines what materials I use when spray painting."
"Sometimes though, for more complex paintings, is where it gets a bit complex. I'll scower the web for ideas and references, and then I'll make a semi-detailed drawing, then I trace every layer I feel is necessary onto disposable cutting boards to bring my vision to life."
It gets very tricky when cutting the boards, and like other paintings, mistakes sometimes get made and they don't always turn out how I wish...but that's one of the things I find beautiful and intricate about spray painting; much like life, it's wild and at times unpredictable, and that's what makes it so magical to me.
